QRSpell App Privacy Policy

This policy covers the QRSpell macOS app.

Last updated: September 29, 2026

QRSpell for macOS

QRSpell scans and creates QR codes on your Mac. The app does not send your screen captures or scan History to the developer and does not include ads, analytics, or tracking.

Screen Recording Permission

QRSpell uses macOS Screen Recording permission to read QR codes visible on your screen. This happens on your Mac; captured screen images are not uploaded.

Scan Results And History

Your scan results are stored locally on your Mac. You can delete them in History. The developer cannot access your local History.

Clipboard And Notifications

You can copy scan results to the clipboard or enable automatic copying. Notifications are optional. You can change these options in Settings.

Network Use

QR scanning and QR creation work offline. If you open a detected link, it opens in your default browser or associated app, where the destination's privacy policy applies.

QRSpell 2.1 includes optional URL previews, which are off by default. If you enable them in Settings, hovering over the Open URL button loads a preview over the internet. The destination website may receive your IP address and requested URL.

Optional Support Purchases

Optional support purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. All app features remain available without a purchase.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the QRSpell macOS app changes its features or data practices. The latest version will be published on this page.
